Managing Director
Mark Cox is the Managing Director and Founding Partner of Tax Management Associates. Since founding Tax Management Associates in 2002, he has represented clients in obtaining sales tax refunds in Pennsylvania and 33 other states. Mark has represented clients in defending and reducing sales tax audit assessments in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, California and 9 additional states.

While many firms are successful in refunds and audit representation, Mark’s client commitment goes beyond the norm to ensure that future savings recommendations and process improvement are emphasized and implemented. He has delivered hundreds of sales tax seminars for clients and implemented improved procedures that result in permanent client savings.

Mark’s experience as a sales tax professional dates back to 1992 when Mark was the Regional Director of a sales tax consulting firm. In 1998 he was an Assistant Director with Ernst & Young’s Mid-Atlantic area’s state and local tax practice.

Mark started his tax and accounting career in public accounting in 1978. During the 1980’s he moved to private industry and has served as a financial officer for a public corporation and an insurance company.

Mark is also actively involved in community and charitable organizations including the Mika Foundation, established to help the impoverished village in Northern Tanzania, which he is Treasurer.

Mark graduated from Merrimack College in 1978 and received his CPA certification in Pennsylvania. He resides in Newton Square, PA with his wife Jean and their three children.

Our Senior Tax Consultants have over 10 years of sales tax and accounting experience. Senior Tax Consultants oversee the fieldwork on client engagements including planning, identification of sales tax overpayments, gathering and organizing the documentation to support sales tax refund claims.
